Dr. Joseph E. Fewell, MD
Dr. Fewell is from York, South Carolina and an honor graduate of Clemson University.
While at Clemson he has a charter member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-medicine
honor fraternity and Battalion commander in the Army ROTC brigade. Dr. Fewell completed
medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina where he was a member
of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical honor society and winner of the Merck High Academic
Achievement Award.
Dr. Fewell completed his general surgery residency at the University
of Alabama in Birmingham where he finished as an administrative teaching chief resident.
He completed his plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
where he was the winner of the Robert C. Coddington, M.D. Resident Research Award.
Dr. Fewell also served in the United States Army as a captain and brigade surgeon,
2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He served as the director of Emergency Services
at the Noble Army Hospital in Anniston, Alabama and was awarded the Army Commendation
Medal.
He is certified by the American Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Fewell founded
Hickory Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Center where he has served the Unifour
for 25 years.
